Local Portland OR examples: Currently, 24 banners line NE 42nd Avenue between Prescott and Killingsworth. The four at the corner of Killingsworth were created as the result of a poster design contest held at Whitaker Middle School. The winning student's design was reproduced by me on the 36" X 67" canvas banners at the corner, in 2002.

The 42nd Avenue Business Association was apparently pleased, and ordered 20 more in 2003. The new designs included both the business association logo, and motifs representing various cultures of folks living in the neighborhood.

In 2000, I created a similar variety of banners for the Alberta Art District specifically to culminate with their street festival. Those were done in ripstop nylon for the translucent effect from both sides. A less costly, but more temporary project. Outdoor ripstop banners have an expected life of about two years. My banners average $85-$275 depending on design and size.

Why hire me?

The hand crafted aspect. Banners are designed and made by me, personally. I work with you, offering great design ideas or taking your sketches/artwork and coming up with the result you're seeking. References upon request.

I recommend starting with a budget in mind. We'll discuss the possibilities, ending up with a wonderful fibre art piece/set you'll be happy with at a price you can afford.

In noticing banners throughout the city, you may observe than many are not readable/viewable unless you can get really close! That was one concern the 42nd Avenue committee had. I say, make 'em so you can see 'em!

I have worked with several fine licensed installers and would highly recommend them to do the job right.

Please consider my work for temporary or permanent banner needs, for business or home. Patios, porch banners....family crests, weddings and other events.

Contact me to address your group with a "show and tell" of this subject, brainstorm, offer ideas without further obligation.
